Marafun - pilot project for 2010
The 2010 Saskatchewan Marathon is proud to introduce a unique, new feature called Marafun. This is a brand new, in-school fitness program that has over 200 Saskatoon area children in Grades 3-8 run 42.2 km (a Full Marathon!) over 5 months. The program wraps up with a 2.2 km “race” on Marathon Day, Sunday May 30th. Marafun is designed to let kids get a feel for the Marathon experience as well as learn more about fitness and adopting a healthy lifestyle.
The 2010 pilot program was initiated in Saskatoon area public schools in January of this year and is already well underway. Please check back regularly for photos and progress updates.
