5. CAN I WALK INSTEAD OF RUNNING?

YES! So many participants have taken up walking, speed walking, pole walking, etc. so we want to allow for you to complete in longer distances and achieve higher goals!  This way, your results are compared to others who are walking the events just like yourself! There are options for a walking event for each distance except for the 42.2K distance. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENTERED THE WALK EVENT IF THAT IS YOUR INTENTION.

6. WALKING YOUR RACE?

If you enter the walking event, you MUST walk the enter time – you cannot run for any portion of the race. If you think you’ll be running at all, you must enter the running event. The walking and running course are the same, so all walkers will start at the back of the pack.

Entry fees are non-refundable under all circumstances. That means that once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund for any reason, and you will not be able to defer your entry to another race.

9. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MARAFUN PROGRAM AND THE FAMILY FOCUS EYECARE  2.2K RACE?

The MaraFun is a 6- or 10-week training program that you can join with your school team or as a family. The program includes running a full marathon over the program period and finishing off the final 2.2k on race day at the SaskMarathon or in your home community if you choose to run it virtually. We provide the training program including physical skills, nutrition tips and goal setting. The program is geared to school-aged children between 6 and 12 years of age, and you train and run the final 2.2k with your age group. Minimum age for participants is age 6 on race day. Participants receive a MaraFun t-shirt and when they complete their final 2.2K, they get a MaraFun medal.

Don’t have time to take on the training program but still want to be part of the fun and run with your family? Sign up for the Family Focus Eye Care 2.2K race. There must be at least one adult (18+) signed up as part of the family. Family members run together and finish the race together. You will receive a SaskMarathon tshirt and a SaskMarathon medal, which is different from the MaraFun program tshirt and medal. You can register as a group of up to 4 people and then add additional people to be part of your family team at any time.
